In conjunction to Oakwood's 50th anniversary, they've organised a photo shooting competition of which a bruneian photographer, Jan shim is nominated to be one of the top 50.

I've always really liked the work of Jan Shim. The colours are always right and his pictures very often really do speak for themselves and very often displace the function of words.

It's been a little more than 3 years since my grandfather has left, and i still miss how he used to bring me around our tiny rural town, buying little gold chocolate coins.

That was when i was 4.

Then we graduated from this routine as i grew older to sitting quietly and saying absolutely nothing on the front porch of the house. just watching the whole world pass us by. Not bothered by the world, not judging each other even though none of us is doing anything too productive. We could each have done other things but we chose to sit together.

That, to me, is trust.
