“Happiness always looks small while you hold it in your hands, but let it go, and you learn at once how big and precious it is.”
-Maxim Gorky
as cliched as it might sounds, i think it's true how people often forget to appreciate what they have at hand until they lose it. very often, whenever we have something big and great, and every bit of amazing before us, they often shrink in value and significance with the passage of time. very often, at some point in life, you start questioning your convictions towards it, is this all that there is to love? is this all that there is to life? and we keep waiting, like giddy little girls, for that one, great, big love to happen. but very often, what we don't realize is that it's happening right now, right then, right there. then we become impatient, and angry and then fearful. the notion that a person can become fearful of happiness kind of sounds ridiculous, or even absurd. but many times too often, we've seen people we love, whom when they are at the peak of happiness, or zenith of joy, start questioning and worrying about when the next downfall would occur. this, dear all, i believe, is no way to live life. sure, we can think about life in terms of future tense sometimes. in fact, we should, it's only right and healthy to plan. but some individuals make it a lifestyle, a routine to worry about the downturns in life when they are most happy and that, i believe is treacherous to 'living'. life, has too many uncertain variables that are beyond our control, and its just absurd to think that you can actually foresee every single one of them and create a tailored armor to protect yourself against every single one of these unexpected turns.
“There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.”
-Epictetus
its never been about whether your significant others in life can make you happy or whether you can find someone that makes you happy, it's always been about whether you allow yourself to be happy. no one and nothing can bring you happiness, but yourself.

Day 4
Location: Patong, JungCeylon Shopping centre
the guys definitely redefined shopping. the group split into two, by gender categorization and we did separate shoppings. one hour and three stalls later, shien and i decided to go no further (also because we finished strolling the whole street), and settled to have ice cream at haagen-dazs. strangely, even after we finished our ice cream, the guys were still nowhere to be seen. we practically had to hunt them down. And we found them at.... ESP store. and kelvin nearly bought the whole store. =.= "no bargain, no looking at price tags, let's just grab whatever pleases the eye." haha. okay, i might be exaggerating a tad bit, but you get the idea.
Jung ceylon is surprisingly huge, it was impossible to finish shopping in one night, so i really cant blame the guys.
